Fleas, Ticks, Mosquitoes, Mites, Dog Lice And Freedom® for Dogs

  1. Fleas
Fleas are small, wingless bloodsucking insects, and with 2,000 species and subspecies of them out there, they’re dogs’ most-common parasites. Among other problems, they can cause itching, tapeworms, and flea allergy dermatitis (an allergic reaction to flea saliva).

Freedom® adulticide action kills fleas for up to four weeks, and its “hot foot” repellency action helps prevent flea infestations: they literally jump off the dog when they come into contact with Freedom®.

  2. Ticks
Ticks aren’t classified as insects, but belong to a closely related group called arthropods. In fact, they’re more closely related to spiders and scorpions. They’re at home in wooded and grassy areas. Where dogs are exposed to their biting and blood-sucking. They’re notorious for transmitting serious diseases, and toxins excreted by some ticks can even cause paralysis. Some cases in point:

Deer ticks can carry Lyme disease. Freedom® kills and repels them for up to four weeks.

Brown Dog ticks can carry Ehrlichiosis. Freedom® kills and repels them for up to four weeks.

Lone Star ticks can carry Babesiosis and also Ehrlichiosis. Freedom® kills and repels them for two to three weeks.

American Dog ticks can carry Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Freedom® kills and repels them, too, for two to three weeks.

  3. Mosquitoes
Almost 2,500 species of mosquitoes have been identified worldwide, including about 200 in the U.S. – and they love biting dogs. They also cause the same problems in dogs as they do in humans: skin irritation and itching. Mosquitoes are more dangerous to our health than any other insect, carrying four serious human diseases – including malaria and encephalitis – in addition to causing heartworm in dogs.

Freedom® kills and repels mosquitoes for up to four weeks.

  4. Mites
Freedom® puts the bite on miles for up to four weeks.

  5. Dog Lice
Freedom® is anything but nice to lice for up to four weeks.
